Mission: SEE - The Safety Slogan Showdown

A novel with a deeply personal inspiration

Some things are hard to see... as if they are invisible. A green toy soldier in the grass, the truth about an accident, a motorcycle on the road.

For Kane, Lennox, and Hattie, that invisibility becomes terrifyingly real when a series of accidents and near-misses changes their families forever. Now, they're on a mission: to win the state's first-ever Safety Slogan Showdown with a message so powerful it can save a life.

But their mission faces its own collision course when the truth about the accident is revealed, threatening to shatter their team —and their friendship — before they even design their first poster. Can three kids find a way to make the world see what’s right in front of them?

Come along on their mission of hope, healing, and empowerment.

Author's Note

The mission in this book is one that is very close to my heart. While Kane, Lennox, and Hattie carry the banner of ‘Team KLH’ in these pages, the inspiration for this story is a tribute to a remarkable soul lost in a motorcycle accident: Kevin Lucas Howard, a man whose infectious laugh was matched only by his love for the open road. This book is dedicated to his memory. It is my deepest hope that stories like this can help ‘make people see’ and prevent other families from facing a similar loss.
