About Me
For author Kathryn Zolman, every story begins with the heart. She writes books for young readers inspired by the real-life moments that shape our lives, finding hope, gratitude, and purpose in the connections we share with both our four-legged and two-legged friends.
A lifelong dog lover, Kathryn’s journey into publishing began with the touching story behind a dog’s unique name. She wrote her debut picture book, Are You a Pineapple?, to celebrate the powerful, joyful bond between children and their pets.
Her forthcoming middle-grade novel explores themes of grief, courage, and compassion, inspired by the loss of a close friend in a motorcycle accident. Through a story of friendship and resilience, it reflects her belief that storytelling can transform fear into empathy—and empathy into safer, more humane communities.
Whether she’s writing about the goofy charm of a beloved dog or the power of friendship in the face of tragedy, Kathryn’s goal remains the same: to tell stories that spark conversation, build empathy, and leave the world a little brighter. She lives in Warsaw, Indiana, with her family.
