About Me
For children's author Kathryn Zolman, every story starts with the heart. She writes books for young readers inspired by the real-life events that shape our lives, finding messages of hope, gratitude, and purpose in the connections we share with both our four-legged and two-legged friends.
A lifelong dog lover, Kathryn's journey into publishing began with the arrival of a special rescue dog named Pineapple. Inspired by the touching story behind the dog's unique name, she wrote her debut picture book, Are You A Pineapple?, to celebrate the powerful and joyful bond between children and their pets.
Her forthcoming middle-grade novel, Mission: SEE - The Safety Slogan Showdown, explores a more poignant, heartfelt theme. The story was written as a tribute to a close friend, Kevin Lucas Howard (KLH), who was lost in a motorcycle accident. It follows three friends who, after their families are affected by similar incidents, channel their fear and grief into a powerful mission to make the roads safer for everyone.
Whether she's writing about the goofy charm of a beloved dog or the power of friendship in the face of tragedy, Kathryn's goal is always the same: to tell stories that spark conversation, build empathy, and leave the world a little brighter. She lives in Warsaw, IN with her family.
